The FIXM development team participated in the 2013 Air Transportation Information Exchange Conference (ATIEC). This 3-day Conference was sponsored by the FAA’s Air Traffic Organization and EUROCONTROL. The ATIEC featured the 3 major international exchange models, FIXM, AIXM, and WXXM, and provided a forum for industry leaders, and international air navigation service providers (ANSPs) to discuss the latest advancements regarding the exchange of globally harmonized information that supports air traffic management (ATM). The conference included multiple presentations on FIXM as well as a "FIXM Geek2Geek" Session (8/28) and a FIXM Breakout Session (8/29).
Three major presentations were given by FIXM team members to the entire ATIEC audience as well as a series of presentations were given at the FIXM Breakout Session:
- FIXM - Integrating Information Towards a Digital ATM, presented by Mr. Rich Jehlen, FAA
- Airservices Australia FIXM Experience, presented by Dr. Paul Chisholm, Ph.D., Airservices Australia
- Mini Global Demonstration, presented by Mr. Thien Ngo, FAA
- FIXM Breakout Session, presented by representatives from FAA, EUROCONTROL, Airservices Australia, MIT Lincoln Labs, and Lockheed Martin.
